Virtual Bizet meets Gabrieli Project

Can I beg your indulgence for a quick remote community-based project? If you've got some time on your hands and are using it to practice an instrument (like me!) - can I ask you to play and record this (on your phone - video, or just audio, don't mind) and then post it to:

rob@robgodman.com – and tell me your location (town, city, country…)

I don't mind what instrument, transposition or key, octave. solo lines preferred, no ensembles (obvs!).  I’m looking for all abilities, those who’ve been playing for a week, those who play professionally, ‘performances’ on non-principal instruments, unusual instruments… If you need it in bass clef, alto or tenor clef and all the other C-clefs, French violin clef, sub-bass clef (yes!), various other octave clefs... Do let me know! If none of these are any good, ‘cos your music reading isn’t so hot, but you play ‘by ear’ - this is the tune (20” in - stop before the accompaniment kicks in) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBlNa9_RCNw

Why?

It's a quick experiment in (non)social music making during these isolating times.  The aim is to create ‘a virtual Paul McCreesh meets Bizet meets Gabrieli’ from all round the world! I will sequence your tracks and blend them into an antiphonal body of sound that we can share – I’ll also post a map indicating where the sources have originated from.

When?

Deadline for submissions – Tuesday 31st March 2020

Hello muso's of all abilities!
